Tuesday’s Championship Action Sees The Magpies Slaughtered 3-0 Against Derby

It was an eventful Tuesday night in the Championship with some shock results. The biggest of which was with league leaders Newcastle who were away to Derby. Newcastle were coming off the back of a 5-1 victory at Cardiff and looked on form but they slumped to a miserable 3-0 loss when Hulse, Barker and Commons sunk the Magpies.

Nottingham Forest would have delighted in watching the leaders fail but they lost 1-0 away to Coventry thanks to an Eastwood strike. West Brom also had their eyes on the leaders though and moved closer to them thanks to goals from Bednar and Zuiverloon, as they beat Scunthorpe 2-0.

Elsewhere Cardiff picked themselves up after their drumming from Newcastle and the Welsh team took three points from Peterborough, whilst Reading, Middlesbrough, Watford and Preston also claimed all three points. Ipswich played well away to QPR when they scraped a 2-1 victory at Loftus Road, Swansea were delighted to scrap out a 1-0 away win against Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday also played well to overcome Blackpool with a 2-0 home win.

The only draw of the night was a goalless one between Leicester and Doncaster.
