After writing an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal opposing Obamacare and supporting free market health care reform, John Mackey, CEO of the Whole Foods grocery chain was attacked by left wing propagandists. The attackers are so upset with Mackey’s opinion, they are organizing boycotts in an attempt to damage the company and hurt the company’s staff.
The leadership team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition announced a series of Tea Party Buycott events designed to support John Mackey and the Whole Foods grocery chain, to counter the left-wing boycott.
The first two Tea Party Buycott events take place in St. Louis, Missouri and Dallas, Texas. Additional events in other cities are to be announced. The St. Louis event will be at the Whole Foods store in Town and Country, Missouri off Clayton Road starting at 6 pm. The Dallas kickoff event is at the Whole Foods Market located at 11700 Preston Rd., Dallas, Texas starting at 7 pm.
A Tea Party Press Release says:
Dana Loesch of the St. Louis Tea Party explained that a Tea Party Buycott asks supporters to gather [in this case] at the Whole Foods store to show economic support. “We are asking supporters to do all their week’s grocery shopping that night. Most tea party supporters are not regular customers of Whole Foods, and we want to show our support for Mr. Mackey’s championship of free market health care reforms.”
Katrina Pierson of the Dallas Tea Party echoed Loesch’s comments, adding, “Whole Foods will be supported by tens of thousands of fellow Americans, showcasing the economic impact the Tea Party movement can play in support of people who share our ideals.”
A St. Louis-based conservative black author, Kevin Jackson, who supports Mr. Mackey’s opinion, said “This Tea Party Buycott will send a message that many Americans share Mr. Mackey’s concerns. We support his message and his company. We also say to other CEOs with the courage of Mr. Mackey, we will support you as well.”
Gina Loudon of St. Louis, Missouri, who conceived the Tea Party Buycott concept said, “We’re going to hit them where it counts – the wallet.”
The national spokesperson for the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, Michael Patrick Leahy, said the Tea Party will use the Marxist Alinsky boycott tactic against the left by turning it on its head. “We’re making a positive statement of support, showing that fiscally conservative Americans have purchasing power, and we are more than willing to exercise it in support of great companies like Whole Foods and great CEOs like John Mackey.”
The national leadership team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition includes many of the local and national organizers of the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Party, which was attended by an estimated one million Americans in over 900 cities.
And below is a left wing lawyer who thinks Mackey is a bad guy and so the lawyer has organized a Whole Foods boycott.
