Hillary Clinton Needs a Long Vacation and a Good Therapist

Why aren't I 50 points ahead?

Defeated presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is beginning to look like a desperate caged animal. Much to the chagrin of many in the Democratic Party, she is now resorting to eating her own.

Her latest scapegoat is none other than former Vice President Joe Biden. A man who could likely be president today if he had challenged Ms. Clinton in last year’s primaries.

Clinton blasts Biden in her new book, “What Happened” saying Democrats didn’t address the middle class during their campaign. Apparently Joe put duct tape over her own mouth during that period.

The former secretary of state is now getting out-of-control with the blame game amongst her party friends. She is settling old scores that would be better left undisturbed. Excerpts from her soon-to-be-released tell-all book show her venting her frustration with her humiliating defeat to Donald Trump.

This is nothing new. She has been on this warpath for months. She claims she was put in a “straightjacket” during the primary by former President Obama. He purportedly told her to keep her attack dogs away from rival Bernie Sanders.

Her venom was saved for Joe Biden who angered her for suggesting she failed to adequately convey the Democratic Party’s commitment to helping the middle class. God forbid, in Hillary’s mind, she did absolutely nothing wrong. All this happening to her as socialist Sanders produced “pie-in-the-sky fantasies” and she labeled him “sexist.”

Why aren’t I 50 points ahead?

This week it is Biden and Sanders who lost the election for her. Bernie’s attacks on poor Hillary caused “lasting damage” to her general election hopes. She goes so far as to say he was “paving the way” for Trump to label her “Crooked Hillary.”

Sanders and Biden have remained calm during Hillary’s tantrums of denial. But not everyone is so charitable. The consensus among those wishing to remain anonymous is she should disappear as the party regroups with new voices.

Hillary was her own worst enemy. She had no message for the middle class and her campaign was vanilla. She had the imperialistic feel to her that suggested the election was a foregone conclusion and she would be crowned president no matter what. Maybe Sanders carried his campaign on long after the outcome was a foregone conclusion, further damaging the eventual nominee. She felt betrayed that anyone would challenge her.

Hillary’s remaining political allies want her to channel her status in the party into something more meaningful than pursuing old campaign grudges. Her legacy, if it can be called that, is being severely damaged by living in a bitter past.

Smart Democrats (yes, there are some) realize the party needs a stronger economic message, something other than the Hate Trump message that has grown old and tired. They believe anything that distracts from that goal is counterproductive.

Hillary has had her day. If she truly wishes to be a team player and not a lone wolf, she needs to blend in rather than stand out.
