America on Verge of Economic Collapse Because of Obama’s Cooked Reports

The Obama administration has released an economic report that claims everything is coming up roses, and it is making the rounds of the MSM’s news outlets.

Truth is, when you look into the numbers, it’s rather easy to come to the conclusion that the economic reports are as screwy as the administration’s employment numbers. In order to convince Americans that his economic measures are working, Obama is claiming there has been an increase in retail sales from December to January by a seasonally adjusted .4%.

The administration goes on to explain that while the economy is moving in a positive direction, it is still slow. They also point out that the recently reported gains reduced unemployment to 8.3%, proving that Socialist economic policies are working.

However, Obama’s unemployment numbers have since been proven to be lies.

Have I stated that we are in an election year and that Obama needs to get re-elected in order to continue transforming the greatest country in the history of mankind into a Soviet style basket case?

To assist in the destruction, the MSM has been knowingly repeating this administration’s lies.

Unemployment Is Actually Increasing

Instead of reporting how America’s real unemployment is actually up between 19 and 25%, they report that Obama has been able to get unemployment down to 8.3%.

Instead of reporting that the government is spending more money than it is taking in, and that retail sales have dropped by almost $100 billion from December to January, we are told by the administration’s propaganda machine that retail sales have increased by .4%.

In an election year, the MSM will do everything in their power to convince Americans that Obama is even greater than Ronald Reagan. We will be fed report after report that proves Socialism is the way to go, and that we need to keep Obama in office so that we will never again return to the days of unchecked capitalism that only allowed the top 1% of society to benefit.

Just like the Soviet Union lies to their people by telling them everything is great, we now have an administration that operates the same way. This can only work with a willing and compliant media, such as the Soviet Union had in Pravda. Well thanks to the MSM, a vast portion of the public believe what they are told, and what they are told are pernicious lies.

The end game for them is to get the same uneducated Americans who voted for Obama in 2008, to do so again. Below is an excerpt from AJC that is like every other report the MSM writes about the economic numbers released by Obama’s administration. It makes me wonder how any reporter can write such drivel with a straight face when they have the same numbers available that I used to learn the truth about our economy losing a record $98.5 billion in retail sales from December to January.

Retail sales rebound as consumers step up spending

Americans rebounded from a weak holiday season and stepped up spending on retail goods in January. The latest government report on retail sales pointed to a slowly improving economy.

Retail sales rose at a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent last month, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. Consumers spent more on electronics, home and garden supplies, sporting goods, at department and general merchandise stores and at restaurants and bars. They also paid higher prices for gas.

Consumers spent less on cars in January, the report showed, even though automakers have previously reported higher sales in January. That may have been because dealers offered more discounts.

AJC

I have said it before, and I will continue to report it every time I write about the economy, “It’s an election year,” and the left needs Obama and his Chicago thugs to continue their assault upon reality by feeding the public cooked numbers. Obama is able to do so because the MSM has abandoned all pretext of being unbiased. Sadly, the MSM news outlets like AP, Newsweek, Time, New York Times, Sacramento Bee, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, ABC, NBC, CBC, PBS, and yes even FOX have all been reduced to nothing more than a huge propaganda machine for the Democrat party. There was a time when this administration would feed some numbers to the MSM, and a week later they would correct them when no one was paying attention, but those days are gone. Now the MSM will report anything that makes the administration look good without even questioning it.

These numbers are not that difficult to find, even if you need a community organizer to explain how $100 billion in lost sales is a good thing. The more I look at the numbers put out by these crooks, the more I want to know if they use the million man math to calculate things. Which is why Zero Hedge has this to say about the report. They are also offering $10,000 to anyone working for the administration that would be willing to share the spreadsheets used to get at the numbers they report to their propaganda ministers in the MSM.

Zero Hedge Offers $10,000 for inside info on BLS

….it would be far more useful if the BLS and Census Bureau’s were to open up their models and explain in nuanced detail just what “old normal” adjustments they still incorporate into data sets. Because as many have already noted, seasonal adjustments used for data from 1980 to 2008 when “up” was the only allowed direction for everything, are completely irrelevant and misleading in the New Deleveraging Normal. Which reminds us: Zero Hedge will offer $10,000 to the first BLS employee to share with us the full and complete excel model set, including assumptions, data tables, and comprehensive output parameters that the agency uses to go from input A to output X. We hope that by spending that money we will finally do society a service and open up to everyone just how it is that the BLS adjusts its Non-Farm Payrolls data.

Another point of interest for those of you who think I’m just another right wing nut making a mountain out of a molehill, I offer the graph below that shows how much gasoline is delivered by the refineries. It seems like Americans are not buying gas. If Americans are not buying gas, that means they are not driving to stores to buy anything other than the necessities. Thus the refineries are not delivering as much gas to the local service station.

Americans are staying home because of their stagnant income, which in turn does not require as many stops at the gas station. Please note that the last two data points on the right of the graph below indicate a historic low amount of gas being delivered to retail service stations. All you need to do is connect the dots, and you will understand how retail gasoline deliveries directly impact retail sales across the board. So get ready for an economically disastrous summer that we have already been told will come with higher gas pump prices.

gas retail deliveries
Monthly U.S. Total Gasoline Retail Deliveries By Refiners.

By looking at the usage of gasoline by U.S. citizens, you will notice that it really does back up my point that Americans are not going anywhere to buy anything. The refineries are not delivering gas to your local service station because neither you nor your neighbor are buying gas. We are staying home because our stagnant income does not allow us to put extra gas in our cars, let alone drive around to purchase things we cannot afford. Again, please notice the last two data points on the graph above. They point to a historic low amount of gas being used by Americans, which has a direct effect on the overall retail sales. Which in turn will affect the employment of Americans.

In an attempt to confuse those who may run across this graph, Obama’s supporters are claiming that the reason for a record low amount of gasoline being delivered to service stations, is because Americans are driving better fuel efficient vehicles. However, a recent report published by the Southfield-based Polk research firm supports my analysis, because their study shows that the average passenger vehicle is now 10.8 years old. When you then take into consideration that 50.6 percent of the 16.8 million vehicles sold in 2002 were light trucks (including pickups, SUVs and vans), you begin to realize the high fuel efficiency argument is running on an empty tank of logic. Plus it wasn’t until the recession hit in late 2008 that sales of these gas guzzlers began dropping.

Considering that most Americans are driving these 10 plus year old lower fuel efficient vehicles, and refineries are still recording historically low levels of deliveries, my conclusion becomes even stronger. If anything, we should be using more gasoline because of lower fuel efficient vehicles, but we are still not purchasing gas, and that makes the whole claim by this administration that the economy is recovering even more suspect. I’ll warn you now, that unless Americans begin driving more, and thus using more gasoline, be prepared for the administration to offer up more bogus unemployment numbers like the ones I wrote about last week, which Obama and the MSM do not want you to know about.

Probably the biggest factor in retail sales are the categories the government always adjusts out to get a better number. Items like automobiles, building materials, and of course gasoline sales. Usually these are considered big ticket items, and it is interesting that gas is now considered a big ticket item that this administration adjusts out of the equation when they hand their buddies in the MSM the reports on retail sales. So basically, you are not getting the full picture of the economy as you would if they reported retail sales that included these items. However, when you look at the numbers the administration is reporting for auto sales, you will become even more confused, because the Obama administration is now claiming auto sales are down.

OK, but then we come across another administration report that has just been released by the commerce dept, it shows that auto sales are up. So why the discrepancy?

In the chart below, you can see that auto sales from the previous month are now being reported to be down, when they were initially reported up.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – Retail sales rose in January, but were dragged down by an unexpected decline in auto sales, according to government data released Tuesday

Yet, the new revised report runs contrary to the data put out by the administrations Commerce Department which shows auto sales gained in January over December

The administration has put out various reports that indicate both robust auto sales in January, and slumping auto sales in January. So what are we supposed to believe? Then I found the chart below that shows how the number of vehicles shipped to dealerships via rail is way up. I found it on Twitter by @bourbon_meyer. Along with the chart, meyer tweeted, “Vehicle shipment via rail was insanely strong.”

So, who is telling the truth, and how are we supposed to believe anything that is reported about the economy? Personally I think Obama’s buddies wanted to ship as many autos as possible to the dealerships to pad the economic reports about factory shipments. This way Obama gets the sound bite he needs that factory output is up with the auto industry he saved. However, I would like to see some numbers on how many unsold new cars are collecting dust at the dealerships across America.

Did I mention that this is an election year? Well what this administration says must be reported as fact by his propaganda machine, the MSM. Otherwise Americans just may learn the truth, and the truth is 180 degrees different from what Americans are being told. I’m no financial adviser, and I could be so far off that America could be on the brink of economic prosperity. However, when I see all these screwy numbers being released by an administration that is spending other people’s money like a drunken sailor on shore leave, I begin to make plans for long rainy days ahead that do not include new toys, or any fishing trips.
