Rodeo Time!

If its the 4th of July, it must be time for the rodeo!

The first Folsom Rodeo was held in 1960, founded by Dan Russell and it is still going strong. The Rodeo Arena is named after Russell.

As always, there was plenty of action and the crowd loved every minute of it.

The Folsom Pro Rodeo is approved by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. Events included steer wrestling and roping, bull riding and a tie down competition.

As it almost always is at this time of year, the weather was hot! Al though Folsom’s population is growing rapidly, it is easy to pick out the well-known Folsom faces inside the rodeo area.

A big thank-you to the Marine Honor Guard who came out in the heat, as they always do. Thank you to Sharon and Digger Williams for all they do.

A big thanks to everyone, whether performing inside the area, running the stalls, making sure everything runs like clockwork or being part of the crowd enjoying a wonderful day.
