BAGHDAD – Iraqi citizens from throughout northwest Baghdad fill the Shula Sports Club for a small business seminar hosted by Sheik Mahmoud, chairman of the Shula Neighborhood Council. During the seminar, attendees received information on USAID-sponsored microfinance institutions, business development classes and micro-power generation. “It is exciting to see a Neighborhood Council, like the one in Shula, see the value in hosting a small business seminar,” said Maj. Todd Auld, a civil military operations officer with 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad. “This type of cooperative event demonstrates a clear desire for a return to normal, everyday life.”
