Alesaundra Tafoya, 3, walked 2 blocks to Fire Station 243, fire-house the family goes by regularly.

Alesaundra Tafoya’s parents taught her what places in their Northern California community were safe to go for help. She told fire-fighters that her father was frozen and wouldn’t wake-up, according to reports.

“I’ve been here over 20 years,” Captain Robert Villalovoz remarked. “It’s the first time I’ve had a 3-year-old walk up to the fire station.”

Alesaundra took rescuers back to her house. Her father was “sitting in the living room, needing medical care,” Villalovoz said.

Frank Tafoya, Alesaundra’s father, “took a mixture of medication I wasn’t supposed to at the time, a bed-time dose, and I guess I collapsed.” It’s reported that doctors commented that without prompt medical attention, Frank Tafoya would have died.
