Mimi Kozma is a mother, wife, special education teacher and master home chef. Since childhood, she has had an appreciation for and experience with fresh ingredients and the food industry. During her youth she was exposed to her parent’s fantastic cooking styles, other various global cuisines and the dynamics of commercial restaurants and kitchens.

After high school, Mimi began to travel abroad and discovered more foods from around the world. Through trial and error, she began experimenting with recreating meals in her own kitchen. Sometimes a fresh ingredient inspired her to come up with an original recipe.

Needless to say, Mimi’s love of cooking runs deep and was what inspired her to create Food Hero. Through deep soul searching and with the help of her husband, John, Mimi met Mike Schwartz of Hometown Heroes.

Mike Schwartz is an entrepreneur from Toms River, NJ. He is the co-star of “Food Hero Mimi Kozma” and the founder of Hometown Heroes, a national nonprofit organization that he started in 2008.

Since its inception, Hometown Heroes has facilitated over 2500 unique applications and has helped over 10,000 people. Hometown Heroes has distributed over $2.5 million dollars in assistance to families and individuals that have found themselves in a crisis situation.

John Edmonds Kozma began as a producer of music videos producing and directing for major artists. He is currently focusing on developing and producing television shows. Kozma and partner Jeff Alley have several unscripted and scripted shows in development. The duo developed and created “Food Hero Mimi Kozma” after Kozma’s wife Mimi Kozma appeared on “The Chew” and Dr. Oz with great success.
