Abortion Clinic In Asheville One Of Many To Fall

Sole Abortion Center In Asheville Gone

Femcare, the soul (sic) abortion clinic left in Asheville, NC, has closed shop. North Carolina’s health department suspended the license of this clinic after a routine inspection uncovered numerous safety violations.

Femcare’s building, near downtown Asheville, has been on sale for $1.275 million. Planned Parenthood, PP, says they will open another clinic in Asheville this summer providing abortion services.

State DHHS inspectors found .” ..egregious violations of existing rules that revealed an imminent threat to the health… of patients.” Bottom line: Femcare failed to meet 23 separate health rules established by the state.

PP ‘Says’ They’ll Return

Nevertheless Melissa Reed, VP/ Public Affairs/ Planned Parenthood, told Carolina Public Press that building may start in the summer.

Right… And now we’ll see flying monkeys swooping in on the crowd.

Hard To Find Abortionists

Operation Rescue has been a major instigator of reducing abortions in America. Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, stated numerous other reasons for other clinic closures. These include the defunding of PP organizations by states, general funding cuts, declines in business, and a lack of physicians willing to do abortions.

abortion rate since 1973
In 2011, the abortion rate in the US reached its lowest point since the passage of Roe vs. Wade.

But many documented PP scandals have resulted in even more disapproval of their abortion business. No wonder why these clinics are closing on such a large scale.

In Wichita, Kansas, AP reports a federal appeals court ruled Kansas can strip Planned Parenthood clinics of federal family planning money. In 2013, 87 PP abortion centers closed nationwide.

It’s easy to see why the abortion industry has sprung a leak, and is sinking fast. Many current abortionists prematurely retired are going to jail. Many have had their medical license revoked, and are fleeing the country to prevent prosecution. Many are simply dropping off the radar screen. Recently the Guttmacher Institute, originally with PP, shows the number of abortionists dropping by over 40% since the 1973 Roe Supreme Court decision. Less abortionists means fewer abortions. Actually, the abortion rate has dropped to a number at its lowest level since 1973.

There is high difficulty finding a willing abortionist. Susan Hill, President pro-abortion National Women’s Health Foundation, stated: “We need young doctors, and we need them badly. The situation is pretty grave, pretty dire.”

‘Telemed’ Abortions Now ‘In-Thing’

Debra Stulberg, at the University of Chicago, published a paper in 2011 finding only 14% of all OB-GYNs performing abortions. It turns out many of the active abortionists are using a “telemed” abortion. This is when a pregnant woman has a phone teleconference with a physician who can remotely trigger a drawer to open. The woman then takes one pill there, and a second pill at home to cause the abortion.

Abortionists like this method because it allows more abortions. They can perform more abortions without being required to physically examine the patient. All of this puts the woman’s health at significant risk. As a result, “telemeds” have been banned in Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin and North Carolina.

Abortions have declined along with the number of surgical abortion centers. Operation Rescue knew in 1991 there were over 2,176 surgical abortion clinics in America. Today there are 663. Nearly 70% of all surgical abortion clinics have closed in that time.

Operation Rescue said in their report, “Death Throws of the Death Industry,” the number of surgical abortion clinics in the U.S. was reduced to 582, from 2,176 in 1996. That’s over a 73 percent drop. Any CEO worth their salt understands what this change means. Even the total number of abortions by PP has dropped from an annual high of 1.6 million in 1986 to just over 1.1 million today.

The trends are blatantly obvious. Even though all surgical abortions are rapidly disappearing due to a myriad of pro-life organizations, it’s within the realm of possibility PP could open another abortion facility in NC.
