Will The USA Fall Like Rome But 700 Years Earlier?

The litmus test of society is its youth and the way they are educated and then make up a society of gown-ups.

If you observe what is nowadays taking place on US University and college campuses, you will start wondering, as I do, if the United States has any future. Is it going the way of Europe, to vanish as the Europe we knew? Is it that history books will remember the original Unites States, but not the people?

Nowadays we often hear the name George Orwell and Orwellian. I think it is time to connect the dots.

First let us get acquainted with George Orwell so we can begin to understand all the other name calling and terms we so often hear these days.

George Orwell.
George Orwell.

He used the pen name George Orwell but his real name was Eric Arthur Blair, born 25th of June, 1903, died on 21st of January 1950. George was an English novelist, essayist, journalist and critic; his work is marked by lucid prose, awareness of social justice, opposition to totalitarianism and outspoken support of democratic socialism.

Orwell is perhaps best known for his dystopian novel Nineteen-Eighty-Four (published in 1949) and the allegorical novella Animal Farm (1945). The Times ranked him second on a list of “The 50 greatest British writers since 1945.”

“Orwellian” is an adjective describing the situation, idea, or societal condition that George Orwell identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society. “Orwellian” means an attitude and a brutal policy of draconian control by propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, and manipulation of the past, including the “unperson” – Photo credit: Brandeis Students of Color Demands 2015 – Ford Hall 2015a person whose past existence is expunged from the public record and memory, practiced by modern repressive governments, which Orwell’s novel Nineteen-Eighty-Four depicts.

Subsequent to his writings in the English press in Spain, and being a member of the Catalan Workers’ Party of Marxist Unification (POUM) militia who suffered suppression and escaped arrest by the Comintern faction, working within the Second Spanish Republic, Orwell galvanized his ideas of oppression. During this period Orwell formed strong ideas of imperialism and democracy.

In his novel Nineteen-Eighty-Four, Orwell used the fictional character and symbol, Big Brother’ wherein the state’s ruling Party wields total power “for its own sake” over the inhabitants.

Politically, Orwell liked to provoke arguments by challenging the status quo, but he was also a traditionalist with a love of old English values.

According to Orwell, the most common sense of Orwellian is that the all-controlling “Big Brother” state, used to negatively describe a situation in which a Big Brother authority figure – in concert with “thought police” – constantly monitors the population to detect betrayal via “improper” thoughts. Orwellian also describes oppressive political ideas and the use of Euphemistic political language in public discourse to camouflage morally outrageous ideas and actions. In this latter sense, the term is often used as a means of attacking an opponent in political debate, by branding his or her policies as Orwellian. When used like this in political rhetoric if it is not sincere.

It is interesting to note as it can be a case of a hypocritical Orwellian strategist denouncing Orwellian strategies.

Religiously, Orwell, who was a communicant member of the Church of England found the church to be a “selfish church of the gentry” with its establishment “out of touch” with the majority of its communicants and altogether had a pernicious influence on public life.

Orwell’s ambiguity in his belief in religion mirrored the dichotomies between his public and private life. In part V of his essay “Such, Such, Were the Joys” Orwell wrote: “Till about the age of fourteen I believed in God, and believed that the accounts given of Him were true. But I was well aware that I did not love him.”

What Would Orwell Think Of This?

That brings me to the article ‘How would Orwell feel about today’s college campuses?’ As students ‘occupy’ Brandeis University this week, a look at how the Arab-Palestinian-Israeli conflict is playing out at universities in a new post-Politically Correct (PC) world order. (timesofisrael.com)

If you read this article, top-to-bottom – you will understand that if this situation on campuses continues, soon there will be no one willing to teach in University or college. High learning institutes are fast turning to the patients run the asylum dogma. Many pundits already call on the young not to attend universities or colleges, because you learn nothing of value there, but hypocrisy, lies and Leftism indoctrinating “values.”

Western high learning institutes are incubators of all that is going wrong in our world. Western values equate conservatism and truth.

Rome did not fall because it was weak, it fell because the people forgot their authentic culture and values, they forgot who they were and allowed others, of other cultures and values, to infiltrate their society and together they ruined it from within. When people forgot their own, and other cultures fill the void, society disintegrates. As such, the reference is to the United States; it will fall just like Rome, like a tinder box.

As you can see already, the United States’ society is fast deviating from its originality. Society in the USA lost much of the values on which it based its success and is already on a downhill fall; it is now far from the iconic USA of the 50th.

700 Year Difference

Rome was 1000 years old when it disappeared, the United States is not even 300 years old and people have already forgotten the values and culture that has made this country the greatest society since Rome. We are fast losing us and what will replace us is what you read in this article, lies, deception and political nuances crapolla, stupidity of the first degree and total ignorance, all in the name of “diversity,” whatever meaning this word carries; all in the name of other non-American “cultures.” And these are the elements that will bring the USA DOWN!

If I was the Brandeis president, I would have expelled all the students who “occupy” Brandeis University, not succumb to their idiotic of no challenge whims, as the Brandeis president did!

Let us be earnest. It is all in the name of Nazism i.e. “socialism,” even if socialists do not admit to it and lie, as they always do, about their AFFILIATION to Nazism, which nowadays they call “multicultural socialism,” which is commonly the same.

Hitler was a Socialist, not a Fascist; he was part of the ideologies and groups called National Socialism, in German: Nationalsozialismus – The National Socialistic Party = Nazism; a SOCIALIST and socialism will always end up in Nazism, or equivalent euphemisms.

Americans do even better and call it “liberalism,” which is exactly the contrary, since socialism is totalitarian and as such cancels liberty.

Orwell’s Ongoing Influence

Orwell’s work continues to influence popular and political culture, and the term Orwellian – descriptive of totalitarian or authoritarian social practices – has entered our language, together with many of his neologisms, including, but not limited to, cold war, Big Brother, Thought Police, Room 101, memory hole, doublethink, and thought-crime.

And this sums up what we see at western universities today and in our cities: due to political correctness and the impossibility of holding truth, our society is at higher risk.

When people are passionate, no matter if their passion is misguided or not, it overrules all reason.

There is one way to remedy it all, go back to the old ways, which made western societies great. Go back to the United States’ Constitution, the most unique, brilliant conservative governing doctrine document ever.
