Historic Serbian Aggression Made Kosovo a Serbian Colony

It’s important to ask official Tirana and Pristina, why until today (1989-2017) didn’t Albanian political leaders of Kosovo and Albania raise the Kosovo issue as a “colonial problem” to be resolved according to historical international law.

When are Albanian authorities going to tell Serbia that Kosovo, Presheva, Bujanci and Medvegja are historical and political traces of Serbia’s colonialism and imperialism (1878 -2017)?

There’s fear and skepticism that the Albanian political leaders in Tirana and Pristina are corrupt, and will never accuse Serbia for its wild era-long colonial rule upon Albanian ethnic territories. People say they are corrupt “up to the throat” and “debtors” of various international partners. They deal with organized crime and various nepotistic, oligarchic and despotic affairs to the detriment of the existence and welfare of their people, the poorest and most underdeveloped states in the world.

Why dialogue with Serbia, when she doesn’t recognize independent Kosovo?

Prior to continuing the Brussels Dialogue (2011-2017), Pristina and Tirana officials should remind the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, that Kosovo once (1912-1999) was a colony of Serbia, nothing more or less.

Why should this historical truth of Kosovo be told to President Vucic? It is because this is known by all Albanians, Europeans and international science and politics. There’s no political secret under the limited embargo of the former world secret diplomacy.

As the official Pristina and Tirana, at least 30 years ago, told the Serbian authorities in Belgrade, Kosovo was once a colony of Serbia, created by aggression, massacres, displacement, terrorism, ethnic cleansing and genocide (1912-1999). The European Union (EU), America and the United Nations would have another approach to solving the colonial problem of Kosovo, as they did with the recognition of the right of self-determination to the many African and Asian states after the end of World War II, in course of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s of the twentieth century.

There is no dilemma that not treating and not solving of the colonial problem of Kosovo according to historical and international law which legally sanctions colonial crime as an international criminal offense, negatively affected the resolution of the Kosovo problem, recognizing unilateral independence by the United States and the EU (22 members less Greece, Slovakia, Romania, Spain , Greek Cypriot). This recogniton of Kosovo happened thanks to the United States of America and its Western European allies.

Otherwise, Kosovo’s political and legal status would still be unresolved because it was never “evidenced” and paved for solution as “a colonial problem.”

This historical, juridical, political and diplomatic mistake of Kosovo and Albania’s political leaders, Belgrade’s diplomacy, capitalized in favor of the “conservation” of Serbia’s former colonialist politics over Kosovo (1912-1999), without giving any punishable prize to the EU, the UN or the United States of America because the official Albanian politics and diplomacy (1989-2017) was silent and failed to bring Serbia into court for its more than 100-year colonial rule and several genocides over Kosovo.

This mistake by the Tirana and Pristina authorities could be fatal because Serbia, even after a century, is not accused by the international community for its colonialism and genocide over Albanians and Kosovo (1912-1999).

This is the main reason, why, today, Kosovo is outside of the United Nations Organization, i.e. Kosovo isn’t a member of the United Nations.

So, by not raising and not treating Kosovo as a colonial problem by Albanian politics and diplomacy, Serbia and Russia created the conditions and opportunities to manipulate with non-recognition of Kosovo’s independence by blocking it in the Security Council (Russia’s veto and China’s abstention).

Such a political mistake by Albanian statesmen and political leaders will cost Kosovo and Albania because Moscow-backed Belgrade will continually blackmail Kosovo on the international stage by deceiving and lying to the world that allegedly “Kosovo is a province of Serbia.”

While Albanians continue “dialogue” with Belgrade, Kosovo will never be recognized by the UN but will have status like Taiwan, outside the UN.

Serbia makes bilateral or multilateral dialogue with Kosovo and Albanian leaders because she considers Kosovo its “colonial plunder.” Both Tirana and Pristina continue to silence the historical truth that Kosovo was colonized by Serbia (1912-1999).

However, until the truth and the historical right of Albanians on Kosovo, Serbia and Russia, along with China, India, Spain, Greece and their other partners, will not be drawn from their political positions and strategy to keep Kosovo’s independent political status in “limbo.” They still consider it Serbia’s “territorial part.”

According to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, Kosovo was “not a colony of Serbia.”

Considering that these two documents are important for Kosovo’s history, it seems that Belgrade and Moscow have read the essence of the contents of the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo (February 17, 2008) and of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo (June 15, 2008) ). Neither of these documents reveal the historical truth, that Kosovo was a colony of Serbia.

This is an unforgivable mistake in the historical part of the Kosovo Constitution (June 15, 2008). There is no word that Kosovo, for not less than 100 years, was a colony of Serbia.
With this mistake, statesmen, lawmakers and constitutionalists of the Kosovo Constitution have amnestied Serbia from its 100-year-old colonialism over Kosovo. That is because this ugly, anti-human and anti-legal phenomenon is not underlined in any provision, paragraph or article.

Therefore, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Kosovo Government and parliament, Albanian President Ilir Meta, Albanian Government and Parliament should not continue to support the Brussels Dialogue (2011-2017) between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels which is being held with the mediation of European Union. That Dialogue will not advance Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia and the UN, but will be a “nut in the throat” for both Kosovo and Albania, as it was 100 years ago.

While the official politics of Tirana and Pristina do not sue Serbia for its genocidal colonialism over Kosovo and other parts of ethnic Albania (1878-2017) neither will the EU, the UN or the ICJ punish Serbia as a colonialist and genocidal state.

Despite the heterogeneous interests of Albanian bureaucrats, as well as the reactions of Serbia, Russia and Europe, etc., Albanian official politiciand have a moral, political, legal and constitutional duty to sue Serbia for colonialism and its genocide against Albanians and their ethnic territories.

Otherwise, it will pass for centuries, the factors and policy-making centers of the international community will never call Serbia for its colonialism and genocide, committed against Albanians and ethnic Albania (1878-2017).

Finally, while Serbia is not penalized for these crimes, Albanians, Kosovo and Albania will continue to have problems and conflicts with Serbia, regardless of the “idyll” of its existing economic, commercial, political relationship with Kosovo and Albania.

Also, while Serbia does not give up on centuries-long colonial sovereignty over Kosovo, Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, its relations with Albanians will be galvanized, fragile and unstable despite the “moderating” political games between the United States of America, the EU and Russia.
