Faith Can Move Mountains

I read an article the other day asking this question. “Do we put too much faith upon or in the Bible?” The Bible is not what people should place faith upon. It is the stories about those who lived in times past.

These stories are an example of how faith functions. The question should be, what is faith and how does it function?

Hebrews 11:1 tells us Faith is the substance (assurance) of things to hope for and the evidence of things not seen.

This is clear and actual, for us to understand, and illustrates how God thinks. Two important elements of those who are religious are the basics of religion. Hope and Faith are the mainstays in the heart of those who believe and trust in God…

Motivators: Fear And Hope

I read somewhere that the two great motivators of men are fear and hope.

Men hope there is a God. They want to be assured of this very thing. So man hopes and prays and lives a good life, the path of good a person takes by living with hope might bring them to acquire substance (assurance) or knowledge to sustain their faith. The object faith rests upon, is the power of God to give assurance or substance…

Knowledge is evidence that comes in many ways even through others but can also come directly from God. We struggle in life, always hoping, caring, and experimenting upon our hope, testing and putting our hope on the line until evidence or surety is given.

The power of faith is the gift of assurance (knowledge) that comes from God through (asking and seeking), living and having positive desires to receive. Faith grows much like knowledge. It becomes stronger as our knowledge progresses.

Men fear their hope and prayers will go unheard or unanswered. Fear motivates them to actions to conquer the fear and sometimes these actions (negative) cause great harm to others. Patience is always the solution to seeking and finding knowledge.

Looking For The Clues

Men hope to find answers but forget to look for the clues to their answers.

The evidence may be physical or spiritual but it is an answer. The Lord reveals to those who so desire the basic knowledge about the Lord. He gives that person (assurance) knowledge of his existence, the truth that He lives and there is a Jesus Christ.

It may be written in scripture or books of good report or from another person who has found the answer and knows. A testimony from a stranger may resonate in ones heart. The Holy Spirit will confirm truth to all who ask. The answer may be in others but when received; it will certainly resonate with in ones heart and mind that they have received truth.

He fills one’s heart with the truth and allows them to carry with them this great revelation; God lives and Jesus is the Christ. The source of information is contained in many ways but the truth when searched and found, will touch one’s heart beyond understanding.

Its knowledge, will not, nor can it be given to, unworthy and sinful people who will mock truth. Faith then given, precedes any miracle and all benefit from one’s faith.

Is The Bible The Only Word?

Is the Bible the only words of God? No it isn’t, in this day and time the evidence of things hoped for, is excelling at a rapid pace. Writings never seen until the past 200 years are coming forth like a river into the sea. Most of us don’t take time to search these writings just discovered and translated from various lost religious writings.

The Dead Sea Scrolls is one example as are the Nag Hammadi papers; these are newer discovered evidences of man’s faith in deity. There are many writings other than the bible man can read and gain knowledge and truth if they are searching. If we search without a desire for truth, truth then is withheld because we lack faith. Christians mock the Book of Mormon but have never read it? Why, are they afraid to exercise their faith?

Do we seek wisdom from philosophers or do we as Clement did and sought from Peter (Clement Recognitions) the truth as Peter replied, “prove me herewith” so declaring a prophet must be on earth to receive from God as Abraham received from God wisdom and knowledge.

When a person learns to harness the power of faith then miracles happen and mountains can be moved. But none will harness faith who are not trying to live worthy of God’s blessings and knowledge… Paul on the road to Damascus received knowledge from God that changed his life. Not many have this type of conversion but it remains always possible.

Hope and faith become the weapons of truth that penetrate into the hearts of the most callused of men. It gives light to those in darkness and opens minds and hearts to the understanding of God’s existence. If faith can move mountains it can change people when they exercise it to enquire of God.

Faith, Hope, and Charity are man’s gift from God. Use them not for self gratification but to serve others.
