Ted Cruz Heckled By Obama Operatives
WASHINGTON - (Newsblaze) - Texas Senator Ted Cruz speaking to an estimated 2,000 delegates at the Family Research Council sponsored "Value Voters Summit" at Washington's Omni Shoreham Hotel seemed to thrive in the middle of an address where he was heckled five or six times by amnesty advocates.
As the first protester was escorted out of the room, Cruz responded by saying "I wish the Obama administration respected first amendment rights as much."
Cruz seemed to get more confident with each interruption "Ma'am, thank you for being here. I wish you would participate in the democratic process through speaking respectfully. It seems that President Obama's paid political operatives are out in force today. And you know why? Because the men and women in this room scare the living daylights out of them."
The hecklers stood individually at first, and then towards the end, more than what seemed to be twenty stood up. However, none of the hecklers' efforts took the Texas Senator out of his game for a moment in the speech.
In fact, it was turned against them, "Is anyone left at Organizing for America - I wonder if anyone is left working there."
Extemporaneously, Cruz said "how scared is the President? What a statement of fear!" He turned the efforts of the protestors back against their cause.

Senator Cruz Challenge To President Obama
Cruz used the occasion of the disruption to pose a challenge to the Obama administration, saying, "In fact, since we have the men and women of the media here, let me make an offer to our president. I would welcome the president - if he wants to get a hundred of his most rabid political operatives in a room, I'll answer their questions on television as long as he likes. And in exchange, all I would ask, Mr. President, is you take not a hundred, but 10 of the men and women in this room and spend 30 minutes answering their questions for the American people."
At the conclusion of Cruz's speech, the master of ceremonies of the Values Voter Summit appeared and addressed the protesters by saying "For those of you who paid full price to be evicted, thank you for your donation"
The disruption ploy backfired so much that speakers following Senator Cruz wanted hecklers as well. "I was hoping at this point I would have had a heckler so I could take a drink of water." remarked Florida Senator Marco Rubio, poking fun at his own experience giving the State of the Union response, when he misplaced his water breaks.
The Value Voters Summit runs through Sunday.
