5th AR Trains Louisiana Guard Engineers for Deployment
McGREGOR RANGE, N.M. - Division West's 5th Armored Brigade conducted combat live fire exercises here recently for Soldiers of the Louisiana Army National Guard's 922nd Horizontal Engineer Company from Gonzales. The engineers are training for a deployment to Afghanistan.

The 5th Armored Brigade also has a Combat Lifesaver program specifically designed to equip all joint warfighters with the basic skills needed to aid fellow service members who are injured in combat.

The 5th AR training mission also recently helped North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers, as almost 200 of them completed a pre-certification assessment. The assessment was undertaken last month, in Grand Forks and Bismarck, N. D., conducted by members of the 1st Battalion, 362nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Task Force Renegade, 5th Armored Brigade, Division West; 263rd Army and Air Missile Defense Command; and 3rd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Florida Army National Guard.
