Colorado Senate Chamber Smelled of Marijuana?

By   get stories by email

"The entire Senate chamber in the Colorado Capitol smelled strongly of marijuana Wednesday, lawmakers said.

John Morse, the Senate president, asked during the session, 'Do you smell marijuana in here, or is it just me?' thereby cracking up his fellow lawmakers, KMGH-TV reported in Denver."

Morse's comment wasn't especially humorous, but the lawmakers bust out laughing. I'm not insinuating they were giggling because they were high, but I wouldn't be surprised if the floor of the Senate chamber was littered with empty bags of Cheetos and Doritos.

It's terrific that recreational use of weed is legal in the mile high state of Colorado; I just wish it were legal in Washington DC.

There wouldn't be any gridlock in Washington if Democrats and Republicans smoked grass before getting down to the nation's business. Even the thorniest issues like gun control and the deficit would be solved if members of Congress were herb lovers.
