Judge Bars Combat Veteran's Service Dog From Court
"A judge barred a combat veteran attending a trial from bringing his service dog into a Detroit courthouse after the miniature poodle barked at jurors.
Wayne County Circuit Judge Lawrence Talon said the small dog, named Lt. Dani, could influence jurors, The Detroit News reported. The dog belongs to U.S. Army Col. Timothy McKernan, who wants to attend the trial of his daughter's boyfriend."
The lawyers adjudicating this case should have spoken out in defense of the combat veteran, and argued that their legal arguments are far more persuasive than the mindless barking of a miniature poodle.
While in the crime-riddled city of Detroit the veteran should have left his poodle at home and borrowed a German Shepard.
Army Col. Timothy McKernan has served in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Somalia, he should be allowed to attend the trial buck naked with his miniature poodle and his goldfish, if he so wishes.
