ANOCA President Pledges More Help for Somali NOC
With the Somali National Olympic committee receiving messages of good will and congratulations from across the globe, the Association of National Olympic committees and Africa (ANOCA) and the National Olympic committee of Kenya have separately written to the NOCSOM in a bid to congratulate for the successful election and show support for the recently elected Somali National Olympic committee leaders.
"Following the highly commended democratic, free and fair elections that were recently conducted by the Somali Olympic Committee in which you and the Secretary General were brilliantly elected to your respective offices, let me on behalf of ANOCA extend to you personally and to the Members of your Executive my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure" ANOCA President Lassana Palenfo said in his congratulatory message which was distributed to the local media by Somali NOC on Saturday.
The ANOCA letter added that the continental sports-governing body rest assured that ANOCA would do its utmost to ensure that SOC through its programmes becomes a reliable instrument of development in your country with which your government would partner to move the overall development process of the country forward.
"Once again, congratulations as I look forward to meeting you soon" President Lassana Palenfo emphasized in his congratulatory message sent to the president and the secretary General Of Somali National Olympic committee Abdullahi Ahmed Tarabi and Duran Ahmed Farah.
Meanwhile the National Olympic committee of Kenya likewise vehemently lauded for the democratic and free and fair Olympic elections in Somalia, where long-time secretary General and former National basketball team coach Abdullahi Ahmed Tarabi was inaugurated to lead the country's sports-governing body for the next four years.
"Dear President Ahmed, I take this early opportunity to congratulate you most sincerely for having been elected President of Somali Olympic Committee. We all know that you have served the Somali Olympic Committee with dedication for a long time" Kenya national Olympic committee secretary General Mr. Francis K. Paul said in his letter to the newly elected Somali Olympic committee veteran president.
"We also know that the Somali Olympic Committee will benefit from your experience immensely. Once again congratulations and May God bless you to steer the Somali Olympic Committee to great heights" Mr. Mr. Francis K. Paul noted in his congratulatory message to the Somali National Olympic committee Boss.
Recently, the deputy minister for sport Bashir Mohamed Jama who held a lengthy meeting with the Somali NOC executive committee said his ministry was fully satisfied with the free and fair elections and pledged cooperation for the NOC and its affiliated national federations and associations. Congratulatory messages also poured into the Somali NOC headquarters from regions across the country and Somali community members around the globe.
However with Somali NOC being under the leadership of a veteran president who is well experienced in this sector, Somali people around the world are fully hopeful that the country's sport will soon recover from years of conflicts and will be able to step with the rest of the rest of the world who have had stabled territories and fully functioning governments so far.
