Dog Training Center Offers Yoga Classes For Dogs
"A New Jersey dog training center is offering classes in 'doga,' yoga designed for canines and their human companions to perform together.
Karin Stoetzer, the yoga instructor at Morris K9 Campus in Randolph, said the center first offered doga classes in December and the classes have now resumed, The (Newark) Star-Ledger reported Thursday.
Stoetzer, who teaches the class with her dog, Bacchus, and Robin Lash, head pet trainer at Morris K9 Campus, said she used to notice Bacchus taking an interest when she would do yoga at home."I'm not surprised that Stoetzer's pooch took an interest when she did yoga at home. I love my dog, Mandy, because she takes an interest in anything I do, from trimming my toenails to brushing my teeth.
I'm sure Bacchus doesn't derive any spiritual or physical benefits from accompanying Stoetzer when she performs yoga.
Mandy is fascinated when I work out, but I'm not going to buy her workout clothes or a tiny set of dumbbells.
I'm all for people spending more time with their pets, whether it's a man doing doga with his pooch or a woman playing chess with her cat, it's all good.
