NASA: Asteroid Won't Destory Earth In 2040

By   get stories by email

"NASA has confirmed that earth will dodge a huge asteroid that's heading toward it in 28 years.

New reports on asteroide 2011 AG5 have shown that the celestial body will pass safely by earth in 2040 and not clash against our planet as it was originally predicted it would, Space.com reported Thursday.

The 460-foot-wide space rock had a 1-in-500 chance to hit earth when it was originally discovered in January 2011 by the University of Arizona in Tucson. But more research has proved the asteroid's journey in space would be harmless."

Y2K didn't even cause a glitch in my VCR, the Mayan Apocalypse was a colossal dud, and now we find out than an giant asteroid won't destroy the Earth in 2040.

All these disappointments are enough to make a man take his own life. We have nothing to look forward to, but endless wars, famine, and earthquakes and hurricanes for the next thousands of years!

Many of us are yearning and praying for an apocalyptic end to all things. And we don't have enough faith that the Zombie Apocalypse will materialize or that the Large Hadron Collider will unleash a baby black hole that will swallow the Earth.

Astronomers, please discover a comet that is on a collision course with our planet! Geologists please announce that a super volcano will destroy the Earth! Give us something we can believe in, for God's sake.
