Elder Bush In Intensive Care
Though he is reportedly alert and enjoying a 'running banter' with his nurses, former President George H.W. Bush is in the intensive care unit at Houston's Methodist Hospital.
The Houston Chronicle writes that 'Jim McGrath, Bush's spokesman in Houston, said the 88-year-old's fever rose on Wednesday, but doctors at Methodist Hospital report he is doing better than the day before. He was admitted to the ICU on Sunday.'"
Historians and regular folks tend to think warmly of the nation's 41st president. George H. W. Bush was kinder, gentler and more intelligent than his son George W. Bush.
If more Republicans today were like the senior Bush we wouldn't be facing a fiscal cliff or foreign entanglements in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other parts of the world.
But right now it's Bush the father and grandfather that we think of, let's remember him in our thoughts. Bush has been in the hospital since the day after Thanking, and we are all hoping for a complete recovery.
