Enjoy Extraordinary All 'Indian' Food At Gandhi India's Cuisine

By

Mohandis Karamchaud Gandhi, the late spiritual, political leader and humanitarian has had such a strong presence to the world.

This brings us to the Singh family who moved to Las Vegas some 20 years ago and opened Gandhi India's Cuisine, a restaurant that presented some of his philosophies in the culinary arena in honor of him. Gandhi India's Cuisine has catered to world travelers and Las Vegans since its inception. Today it has turns to a new chapter, with its new owners Karen Singh, Horjit Dhillon and Eric Singh.

All three gentlemen have expanded the menu to northern Indian cuisine, but have retained Gandhi's original chef, Jermil Singh. I have been a connoisseur of Indian cuisine for many years and remember Gandhi's India's Cuisine as it was in its earlier days.

The restaurant has since then undergone some excellent contemporary changes, as well as private dining areas for large functions for companies as well as families. Located at its original location on the corner of Flamingo and Paradise in a small shopping center, this quaint eatery has a wonderful buffet for new combers to acquaint themselves with southern and northern Indian cuisine. Starting with the Aloogohi, which consist of cauliflower and potatoes is quite tasty.

All the dishes at Gandhi use original spices from India. Other delicious dishes include Dahlfry, a dish made with sautéed lentils and beans. Mali Koftu consists of a cream based sauce with handmade mixed vegetable balls. There are other meats such as Goat curry, Lamb salsa and Fish curry, along with the traditional Tandoori chicken, Lamb kabobs and a variety of fruits and deserts, all made in the kitchen.

Companies or individuals, who are celebrating for the holidays or are having a meeting, have two private dining areas at Gandhi. One is on the second floor and the other is just off the entrance of the restaurant.
