Teen Thief Steals Toys From Wal-mart, Wanted To Play Santa For Girlfriend's Kids

By   get stories by email

"Police in Georgia said a 17-year-old caught stealing from a Wal-Mart store told officers he wanted to play Santa Claus for his girlfriend's kids.

Athens-Clarke police said Matthew Dillion Sparks was detained by security guards Sunday at the Wal-Mart in Athens after he pushed a shopping cart loaded with items, mostly toys, out of the store without paying for them."

The teen Santa told cops he was planning to put the toys on layaway and was taking them outside of the store for safekeeping while he went back inside to buy a soda.

Yeah, right! There's no layaway counter in the parking lot, and homeboy only had eighteen cents in his pocket.

At least Sparks was shoplifting and not actually buying toys from the truly evil Wal-Mart Corporation, where all of the toys are made in sweat shops in China, and not by elves in the North Pole.

Spark's heart is in the right place, a teen boy has no use for a shopping cart full of toys; I believe he really was planning on playing Santa for his girlfriend's kids.

I hope the kid gets a lecture instead of being thrown in jail: Dude, it's not right to shop or shoplift at Wal-Mart.
