PHOTOS: French Engineers Instruct ANA in Mine Detection

French enginners today shared mine detection infrormation to Afghan National Army soldiers as they will transition into leading all security operations in the Kapisa province in Afghanistan.

The French and ANA forces have been partnered in security operations in the province.

KAPISA PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- French Army Staff Sgt. David Devenne, an engineer with Task Force Lafayette, demonstrates how to properly detect mines with an Afghan National Army Soldier during mine detection training in Kapisa province. Devenne showed the ANA proper detection procedures with a mine detector and a magnetic probing device.

One of Deriemacker's favorite training pieces is the mass casualty training because they are able to apply all they have learned in one scenario.
