Mariah Carey's Personal Photographer Signs with Starpower Management

Bill Boatman has been involved in the motion picture industry for over 25 years. He has contributed creatively to more than 30 features, hundreds of music videos, commercials, documentaries and more.

Beginning his career at the ripe age of 18, Mr. Boatman has worked in Hollywood as a writer, editor, lighting director, assistant cameraman, camera operator, director of photography, and director. "My love affair with the camera began at a very early age, sitting beside my father in the darkroom, developing countless exposures while learning the wisdom of light and shadow." From there, his fascination accelerated rapidly thrusting me into an endless quest to 'conquer the image.' He has been fortunate to have worked with some of Hollywood's biggest and most successful Cinematographers, and Directors of all time.

After following the trail of employment on a multitude of independent features that blossomed in the nineteen-eighties, Bill Boatman oscillated back and forth with the music video world with the list of acts to include; Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Don Henley, Prince, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Snoop Dog, Usher, and the Rolling Stones among many, many more.

One of the greatest living voices of our time- Mariah Carey is legendary. The multiple Grammy winner is the most successful selling female artist in music history, and the most record breaking. The sex symbol, model, and gifted actress holds the record for most straight number one singles and albums ever. Along with a sweet personality and charm, and elegant taste, the superstar has a vocal range that is stunning, lending to the power of her work and her performances. In April 2008, she eclipsed Elvis Presley's seventeen number one singles with eighteen on the top of the charts. Crafting her own music, Mariah Carey truly is one the world's most amazing voices.

In 1994, Billy Boatman returned as Camera operator for five seasons of the drama hit series NYPD Blue. It was there that he was able to gain and absorb the wisdom and knowledge of screenwriter wizard David Milch and Steven Bochco before being summoned back to music video world with the request from Mariah Carey to be her personal visual consultant. Mariah enlisted Bill into the position as her personal Director of Photography, Still Photographer, Lighting Director, Cameraman, and music video Director. In fact, Bill Boatman has had his career recognition in music continue, by shooting and directing Mariah's hit videos where he currently still takes the call to duty, and shooting by her side for some of her most intimate moments. His photo galleries from beach calendars to candid pictures including her wedding have been published worldwide including on the cover pages of 'People Magazine' among more.

In 2001, Bill Boatman completed a short film entitled, "LAST CHANCE", which went on to receive multitudes of awards at over 30 film festivals including Telluride, Sundance, Palm Springs International, New York, and London, to name a few.

Bill Boatman's screenwriting credits include "TOUGH LUCK," a riveting thriller released in 2003 theatrically starring Arrmande Assante, and Norman Reedus. A massive talent as a screenwriter, director, director of photographer, and still photographer, William Boatman's talent and achievements are quickly rising.
