HOUSTON, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin W. Brown, senior vice president, refining, with LyondellBasell, will serve as opening keynote speaker at Hart Energy's World Refining & FUEL Conference, on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego immediately following the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers' Annual Meeting.

"The conference will feature global thought leaders engaging in discussion and debate over how to effectively deal with current and future regulatory constraints," said Kristine Klavers, senior vice president, Hart Energy. "They will bring to the forum their considerable knowledge and experience in the fields of unconventional resources, refining, biofuels, alternative fuels and new technologies."

Hart Energy's 25th Annual Refinery and Energy Company of the Year award luncheon will also take place during the event. Recognized companies are chosen from those making further investments in the refining and energy sectors, improving the quality of their products, raising the financial, environmental and health-and-safety performance as well as their commitment and achievements towards cleaner air.

Experts from refining, fuels, additives, technology, government, biofuels, automakers and engine manufacturers' communities are expected to attend. The conference format will be interactive discussion panels addressing key questions. The moderator will introduce each panel topic with a brief presentation, and a panel discussion led by each session moderator will follow.
