Translation Cloud Releases API for Developers In Its Updated Version 2.5

NEW YORK, Feb. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Translation Cloud, http://www.translationcloud.net, the application created by Translation Services USA, is an automated system for real time translations via a crowdsourced community of translators. This week, Translation Cloud opens its API to developers and issues new updates to its existing system.

The latest changes to Translation Cloud include altering the code to provide a more robust algorithm for crowdsourcing as well as a new and improved Translation Rank system. The new Translation Rank system now ranks the translators on a scale of 1-50, providing a more detailed and secure evaluation of linguistic accuracy. This improved quality control system helps to prevent scammers from taking advantage of the program, ensuring only qualified translators can contribute.

With the release of version 2.5 comes another big milestone in the continued success of Translation Cloud. Recently, the program reached 10,000 qualified translators signed up in the system. Right from the start, Translation Cloud has consistently attracted more and more new translators to its increasing community. However, according to Alex Buran, CEO and founder of Translation Cloud, the goal has only been 10% achieved.

"According to Luis von Ahn, 'If you look at humanity's large scale achievements...for example building the pyramids of Egypt, or the Panama Canal or putting a man on the moon, they were all done with about 100,000 people.' So my goal is to reach 100,000 translators on Translation Cloud," Alex states. "The more translators we have, the faster and more accurate Translation Cloud becomes. I'm excited about reaching our goal and seeing what can be accomplished with this application."

By releasing the API to developers, it may not be long until we see those results. "We wanted to give developers the chance to utilize this platform. Through integration of the Translation Cloud framework, I can't wait to see the innovative ways developers will use the power of thousands of professional translators, quite literally, at their fingertips," says Alex.

Translation Cloud's API allows users to quickly and easily access a large number of the program's functions including getting a price, creating, and retrieving a translation for a project. To access the API, developers can go to http://www.translationcloud.net/developers to sign up and receive their unique API Key.

Since its initial release almost a year ago, Translation Cloud has garnered a lot of attention and praise from both customers and translators alike.

Translation Cloud offers users the opportunity to receive translations by crowdsourcing to a tightly monitored and accuracy-controlled community of translators and bilingual members. Customers receive an accurate translation at a fraction of the traditional cost for professional services, and it is completed in a much shorter time frame. Currently, customers can use this service by either visiting Translation Services USA, http://www.translation-services-usa.com, and requesting a quote or through the proofreading option on Ackuna, http://www.ackuna.com, the company's free machine translation tool.

For translators, Translation Cloud offers a more convenient approach to translating. All the work is performed online, through the Translation Cloud app on the translator's Facebook page. Once the translator creates an account, they can log into the Facebook app and start correcting short segments of text in their chosen language pair at their convenience. If the text is translated correctly, the user earns money (in U.S. dollars) through their PayPal account.
