Kiddie Academy Continues to See Growth in Franchising

Child Care Franchise Company Reports Amazing Success for 2011

In 2011, Kiddie Academy, an educational child care franchise, saw continued growth in sales, development and openings despite the lingering effects of the recession. The company reported 13 openings, 71 academies in the development stage and over 25 preliminary agreements signed, making it a banner year.

Their 2011 fiscal year, which runs from October 2010 - September 2011, broke a number of records at Kiddie Academy -- more grand openings, signed franchise agreements and signed preliminary agreements occurred over that 12 month period than the average of the past five years.

"Our growth during 2011 demonstrates that those interested in our industry see the value of our business -- a demand for high quality, educational child care in communities -- and see that Kiddie Academy has a successful, proven business model," said Greg Helwig, president of Kiddie Academy. "We're looking forward to continuing this trend in 2012 and a bright future for all our franchisees."

The company saw specific growth in the Mid-Atlantic, southern United States and California. Kiddie Academy has steadily been growing the brand in these markets over the last several years.

According to Sue Hilger, vice president of franchise development for Kiddie Academy, a trend is emerging -- couples and partners are deciding to invest in themselves and build their own nest egg. "As many grow concerned about the performance of their 401k and investment portfolios, more and more people are opting to pull those dollars and fund their own businesses instead. Since 401k funds can often be used with little to no penalty fees, or taxes, putting those funds to work in a Kiddie Academy is appealing," Hilger said.

Kiddie Academy sets itself apart with its branded, proprietary Life Essentials® curriculum, which is based on four pillars of education: developmentally appropriate educational practices, character education, technology education, and health and fitness.
