Start-Up Experienced Nokia Executive Hired to Scale Business and Build Out Delivr Ecosystem

Delivr, a leading real-world analytics and QR code company, today announced the appointment of Ed Simnett as CEO. Ed will be responsible for scaling the business and building out an ecosystem across content owners, brands, app developers, agencies and other partners.

Ed brings more than fifteen years of technology and mobile experience to Delivr. After founding a messaging company (ePostings) and working in the VoIP space, he spent six years at Microsoft, launching the first version of both Live Communications Server and Communicator, and then building the product strategy for Bing Mobile. After Microsoft, Ed moved to Nokia, where he was responsible for strategy and business development within the services group, as well as working on new products and M&A in local commerce, mobile app, address book, and social music.

Delivr shortens links and creates QR codes, 2D barcodes that can be scanned using a smartphone and reader application, which is readily available at app stores. Once scanned, QR codes can launch URLs, mobile pages, and initiate phone calls or downloads. Delivr allows customers to manage QR campaigns, with specific codes going to particular locations or publications, and then provides actionable analytics as users interact with the codes in the real world.

Ed said, "Delivr is leading the way in real-world analytics and the team has built a great platform for growth. Smartphones are the natural way to bring the power of the Internet into the real world, and more and more people are taking advantage of that capability. I am thrilled to be working on providing services for companies building those mobile to real-world interactions."

David Harper, Delivr's founder, who remains responsible for Delivr's product, said, "We are delighted to be bringing Ed on board at this stage of the company's growth. I am confident that under Ed's leadership, we can build on the foundation we have, and create a world-class company. Ed's experience in mobile at industry giants like Nokia and Microsoft complements and builds on the skills we already have in the team, and will enable us to scale rapidly."
