AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today two Texas political operatives of opposing political parties teamed up to launch a new, bipartisan website dedicated to providing a one-stop location for the state's top news, opining and blogging at http://www.MustReadTexas.com.

Founded by Matt Mackowiak, an Austin and Washington, DC-based Republican consultant and president of Potomac Strategy Group, LLC and Jason Stanford, an Austin-based Democratic consultant and president of Stanford Campaigns, the site will offer the top news, editorials, columns and opinionated blog posts from across Texas - bringing all of the state's best journalism to one location.

"Texas has no statewide newspaper, television station or radio station, and every day Texas business and political leaders and active, engaged consumers of news are missing stories that they need," said Mackowiak. "Must Read Texas will fill that void, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We believe Texans will value this service, from Austin to Amarillo, from Texarkana to El Paso."

"Must Read Texas is a bipartisan news curator for both the Fox News and MSNBC sets in Texas," said Stanford. "It's basically a clip service without the campaign intern or the photocopy machine."

The site draws inspiration from RealClearPolitics.com, the Texas Tribune and Quorum Report, but aims to fill a niche that exists in Texas, while increasing attention to the outstanding work that is already being done throughout the state of Texas by working journalists, columnists and bloggers.

The site also has a Twitter page: http://www.Twitter.com/MustReadTexas.
