Is 'Serb Republic of Bosnia' The Biggest Disgrace of International Justice?
By Mehdi Hyseni, Ph.D
Pro et Contra Serbian Genocide in Bosnia
The Serbian genocide of Bosnian Muslims was committed to destroy them entirely as an ethnic, national and religious group. This intention to destroy an entire ethnic group, according to international law, is unique genocide that constitutes an international crime which is prohibited by the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948).
There is no doubt that the "Serb Republic of Bosnia" ("Republika Srpska") is the biggest disgrace of European and international justice. It was created by committing genocide, contrary to all norms and principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. For more on this subject, other articles I have written and published can be accessed from www.albaniapress.com.
Related to this issue, Cedomir Jovanovic, Serbian leader of the Liberal Democratic Party for Serbian mass media in Belgrade, recently stated that the "Serb Republic of Bosnia" was founded on the basis of genocide, and that the Srebrenica genocide and ethnic cleansing of Bosnian Muslims was unprecedented in Europe after World War II.
With this statement, Jovanovic created a great stir in Serbian domestic public opinion, as well as on the international and European level. Finally and rightfully, someone has stated the truth that the creation of the "Serbian Republic of Bosnia" was based off of committing genocide and ethnic cleansing. By making these comments, this progressive democratic leader stood up to the Serbian parliament, which through much determination of obscene, immoral and illegal claims has denied committing genocide in Bosnia. Part of their denial is the Srebrenica massacre, where eight thousand Bosnian Muslim men, women, children and babies were massacred by Serbian barbaric military, paramilitary and police forces led by General Ratko Mladic.
Besides correcting the government and parliament of Serbia and the Serbian leadership in Pale led by Milorad Dodik, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party in Belgrade, Cedomir Jovanovic publicly challenged and confuted the European and international justice system, by broadcasting from Belgrade that 17 years ago Serbian forces committed genocide in Bosnia and thus the "Serb Republic of Bosnia" was in reality established via ethnic cleansing.
To Cedomir Jovanovic: Well done. This is the truth, which so far has not been accepted by Serbian official political circles in Belgrade, or by those in Pale, Bosnia. Furthermore, to date, this truly horrific event has gone unpunished by the United Nations and the European justice system.
Even though this is an undeniable fact, Serbian official authorities in Belgrade and Pale refuse to accept that any genocide took place, despite the fact that it was proved by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in Hague. Evidence shows that from 1992 to 1995 Serbian military and paramilitary forces killed and mutilated over 75,000 and displaced over a million Bosnian Muslims. Peak performance of the Serbian genocide of Bosnian Muslims was exemplified in Srebrenica, where Serbian general Ratko Mladic ordered his military criminals to execute and massacre eight thousand Muslims, men, women, children, young and old, just for being Muslims.
Although there was a lag of 17 years, Cedomir Jovanovic's statement is accurate and irrefutable on the basis of the principles and norms of international law by the fact that "Republika Srpska" was established on genocide, terror and ethnic cleansing, directly supported by the Republic of Serbia.
