BWI Airport Lodging Helps the Patients at Johns Hopkins Children's Center Feel More at Home in Their New Hospital Building

When Johns Hopkins Children's Center patients move into The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center on April 29 and April 30, 2012, they will have a handmade fleece blanket as a warm welcome to the $1.1 billion state-of-the-art children's hospital.

TownePlace Suites Baltimore/BWI Airport hotel is the proud sponsor of this blanket program. "It was all hands on deck when Hopkins Children's reached out to our hotel asking us to help them make the patients' move from the old facility to the new facility as comfortable as possible," says the BWI airport lodging General Manager, Michelle Emley.

"We know this can be a very delicate time for both the patients and parents and our team is over the moon to help out in any way we can," says Emley. "Everyone from staff to guests to clients and corporate management are coming together on February 23, 2012 for a blanket-making-kick-off-party to trim & cut 908 pieces of fabric and tie over 67,500 knots to make 454 blankets by moving day."

"The time and effort they will be putting into this project will mean so much to our patients on the day we move them into the new facility."
