ETM Introduces NAIC Blog

Content on Compliance, Regulatory Changes, Filing Dates, Events, and More

ETM, developer of Wings Plus for financial reporting and tax compliance -- and UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting -- has created a second blog, this one to address the complex and changing world of compliance with NAIC filing requirements; filing mandates, processes, and dates; and sundry related events. Randy Hefel, ETM's resident expert on all things NAIC, will be the blog's most frequent contributor.

"Given the number of regulatory requirements and filing mandates in all of the states and other jurisdictions served by the NAIC, managing compliance guidelines, reporting and filing processes, and their attendant changes is not something most companies are equipped to handle internally," said Larry Kane, ETM's president. "The more jurisdictions in which a particular insurer writes business, the more complicated compliance becomes. Since we're a software vendor, we have a different relationship with the NAIC than insurers do. We typically get access to information earlier than and by different means from insurers. That enables us to pass the corresponding advantages on to our customers."

Hefel has been a Regulatory Accountant in the Annual Statement software industry since 1997. He specializes in the development of NAIC Filing processes and NAIC Regulatory compliance and testing. His responsibilities at ETM include formula and validation development, regulatory filing compliance, and integration of the NAIC RBC, Quarterly, and Annual Statement revisions into ETM software and systems.
