A suspected US drone fired two missiles at a home in Pakistan's tribal region in North Waziristan Tuesday morning, killing ten people, according to local sources.
Apparently two missiles were used in the attack at the Spalga Tapi village on Razmak Miran Shah Road area of North Waziristan. The fact that two missiles were used tends to indicate that an important person was targeted. In fact, US President Obama alluded to this recently.
At the time of writing this report, the identities of those killed were not known.
The government of Pakistan has previously complained that such drone attacks violate the country's sovereignty.
Last month US President Barack Obama defended the use of drones to target militants in Pakistan's tribal areas. Obama said "This is a targeted, focused effort at people who are on a list of active terrorists who are trying to go in and harm Americans, hit American facilities, American bases."
