Letter to the Editor
Ashamed of The Iraqi Government
Dear Editor,
Comment on story Rajavi Heads to Baghdad For Dialogue With Iraqi Government
I can not understand why the Iraqi government do not accept Ashraf residents, which includes women, old people and children, to stay in Iraq, as a matter of principle and humanitarian points of view.
The Iraqi government supposedly is a muslim government and all Ashraf residents are Muslims. Why do they not accept them as guests where they do not cost Iraq a penny? Is that just because Iran do not want them to stay in Iraq? Iraq is supposed to be a sovereign country. Where has Iraqi sovereignty gone?
If Saddam Hussein or al-baath had done this in their time, then it would not be unusual, but we are supposedly liberated and democratic.
The West are mainly Christian and infidels in the sight of Muslims, but they accepted millions of muslims, even when many are anti west and anti Christian, feeding them, giving them salaries and accommodations. Where is the Arab and Muslim hospitality? Have their values and principles gone or they are only words on paper.
Being Iraqi myself, I feel ashamed of the behaviour of the Iraqi government. It is a stigma, a disgrace and a stain on the forehead of the Iraqi government now and for ever.
