The Bonati Spine Institute Presents Leadership Award to Pasco County Special Olympics Athlete

The Bonati Spine Institute, working closely with Special Olympics of Pasco County, developed this award that recognizes an athlete that embodies the spirit of Special Olympics and exhibits leadership in the community.

Special Olympics provides year round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics of Pasco County has grown from 175 participants in 1975 to over 900 registered athletes today.

"A great athlete requires more than skill on the field; they require strength of character, compassion, knowledge and a desire to make a difference in their community and to their team or sport. Mark's spirit, commitment to excellence and attitude on the playing field make him a true leader and a role model not just for other athletes, but for all of us. We are proud to present him with a check for $500 in recognition of his achievements," commented Dr. Alfred Bonati, Chief Surgeon at The Bonati Spine Institute.
