theFashionSpot Partners with The Heart Truth this February to Raise Awareness About Heart Disease in Women
LOS ANGELES - (BUSINESS WIRE) - theFashionSpot (TFS) (www.thefashionspot.com),
the largest fashion-focused community and fashion editorial site on the
web, announced today its partnership with The Heart Truth a
national campaign for women about heart disease. In an effort to spread
the word about women's heart health, theFashionSpot will be a media
partner of the campaign as well as launch several initiatives of its own
to coincide with The Heart Truth's existing efforts during
February-National Wear Red Day and the Red Dress Collection
2012 Fashion Show.
The 'Show Us Your Red' custom online destination on theFashionSpot (http://www.thefashionspot.com/show-us-your-red) celebrates
National Wear Red Day Friday, February 3rd, a day
when Americans nationwide will wear red to show their support for
women's heart health. Beginning February 2nd, visitors are
able to upload photos to the destination of themselves "showing their
red" in support of the campaign.
TFS is also encouraging celebrities and fashionistas to support the
cause by pouring out their hearts on canvas. The "What Does Red Mean To
You?" initiative has such celebrities as Cyndi Lauper, Fashion Designer
Rebecca Minkoff, Bravo's Andy Cohen, Nigel Barker, and more put their
hearts down on paper by drawing a sketch using only red to illustrate
what red means to them. Each sketch will be featured on TFS the week of
February 6th, leading up to The Heart Truth's Red
Dress Collection 2012 Fashion Show. The sketches will also be packaged
into a photo book that will be placed into the gift bags at The Heart
Truth's Red Dress Collection fashion show.
Lastly, TFS will provide full coverage of The Heart Truth's Red
Dress Collection 2012 Fashion Show that takes place in New York on
February 8th. From red carpet arrivals, backstage coverage,
interviews with participating celebrities and designers to
up-to-the-minute runway steps, theFashionSpot will be the heart of event
coverage for this 10th annual celebration.
"We are so excited about this partnership between The Heart Truth
and theFashionSpot. It's the perfect forum to connect fashion,
creativity and celebrity, to help raise awareness about heart disease in
women," says Dana Glazer, Managing Director of theFashionSpot.
"theFashionSpot has a very passionate community and we are hoping to
inspire them to spread the word by having them 'show us their red' while
also being able to enjoy all the insider coverage we have of The
Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2012 Fashion Show."

About The Heart Truth
The Heart Truth is a national awareness
campaign for women about heart disease and is sponsored by the National
Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National
Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS). Through the campaign, the NHLBI leads the nation in a landmark
heart health awareness movement that is being embraced by millions who
share the common goal of better heart health for all women.
The centerpiece of The Heart Truth is the Red
Dress, which was introduced as the national symbol for women and heart
disease awareness in 2002 by the NHLBI. The Red Dress
reminds women of the need to protect their heart health, and inspires
them to take action.
