SmartOps Corporation Appoints Martin Barkman President and Chief Executive Officer
PITTSBURGH - (BUSINESS WIRE) - SmartOps Corporation, the leading enterprise-class supply chain
optimization solutions provider, today announced the appointment of
Martin Barkman as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective
January 5, 2012.
Mr. Barkman replaces Dr. Sridhar Tayur who will continue to be involved
with SmartOps as an advisor to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Barkman most recently served as the Executive Vice President of
Global Operations where he was responsible for worldwide sales, sales
consulting, marketing, alliances, professional services, and account
services. Mr. Barkman has been in various operating roles of increasing
responsibility since joining the company in early 2001. In addition, he
has broad-based supply chain technology and management experience
ranging from consulting at McKinsey & Company to product supply and
manufacturing management at Procter & Gamble. Mr. Barkman received his
MBA in Finance as a Palmer Scholar from the Wharton School at The
University of Pennsylvania. He also earned a B.S. in Chemical
Engineering with Distinction from Cornell University.
