Vocollect Adds Voice Support for PCs to Reduce DC and Warehouse Operating Costs Across Multiple Workflows

Vocollect's new VoiceCatalyst MP 1.0 for Windows XP Professional helps companies maximize profitability, accuracy and performance with their existing supply chain equipment and personnel by extending voice to Microsoft Windows-based computers, whether on desktop PCs, vehicle-mounted computers, fixed-mount computers or tablet PCs - both inside the four walls of the DC or warehouse and beyond. The combination of VoiceCatalyst MP with Vocollect's SRX wireless headset and PC enables hands-busy/eyes-busy associates to roam freely near a PC or fixed-mount computer, replacing the need to interact with screens and keypads to pack an order, put away a pallet, inspect a vehicle, perform an inventory audit, and other distribution activities.

Vocollect's new packing station voice application provides off-the-shelf support to voice-direct a packing station workflow, complementing Vocollect's 10 other preconfigured workflows. This new capability is particularly well-suited to retailers, e-tailers and mail order firms whose workers must interact with host warehouse management systems and customer relationship management systems, while at the same time performing order customization and value-added services that are difficult to fully automate.

Companies could realize significant productivity gains, while their employees enjoy better ergonomics from no need to manage corded headsets. Existing Vocollect customers can easily and quickly adapt this newest functionality, and new customers will find it even easier to deploy work-based processes to their organizations across their operations.
