Earth-Kind Named Green America Top 10 People's Choice Finalist

BISMARCK, N.D., Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- From a field of more than 5,000 companies, Earth-Kind, located in Bismarck, N.D., has been named one of the Top 10 People's Choice finalists by Green America.

Earth-Kind manufactures Fresh Cab® rodent repellent, the only EPA-registered, nontoxic, natural rodent repellent available for indoor use. The company also makes eco-friendly air fresheners. All Earth-Kind products are biodegradable.

"The 10 People's Choice finalists are great examples of the socially and environmentally responsible business leaders that meet the standards of our Seal of Approval and make it into the National Green Pages(TM)," announced Green America Corporate Responsibility Director Todd Larsen.

Kari Warberg Block, Earth-Kind's founder and CEO, started out years ago trying to keep mice out of her tractor cab in a way that wouldn't harm her small children and pets, the earth--or even the mice. Today, Earth-Kind has a repeat purchase rate of more than 90% and annual retail sales exceeding $5 million through 15,000 retailers across the nation.

"Almost all rodent control products are toxic, yet surveys show that Americans overwhelmingly would like to eliminate rodent problems by using 'green' solutions," Warberg Block says.

"Making the world better" is Warberg Block's motivation for buying raw components from local farmers. It's why she's partnering with scientists to find "green" ways to eliminate rodents throughout the global food distribution system. And it's the impetus behind her relationship with Minnesota's Epic Enterprise, Inc., to hire people with developmental disabilities to assemble Earth-Kind products.
