Intrado Demonstrates i3 Interoperability at NENA Industry Collaboration Event
LONGMONT, Colo. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Intrado Inc., a subsidiary of West Corporation and a leading provider of
9-1-1 technology solutions, today announced it participated in i3
interoperability testing at the National Emergency Number Association
(NENA) Industry Collaboration Event 4 (ICE 4).
In June, Intrado announced a suite of i3 products designed to help ease
the transition to next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) for telecommunications
service providers and public safety answering points (PSAPs). Intrado's
i3 product suite includes a broad range of premise-based and fully
managed public safety solutions that align with commonly used industry
standards.
During the ICE 4 event, held this week at the AT&T Center for Learning
in Irving, Texas, Intrado fully tested a complete solution to
demonstrate i3 interoperability in a multi-vendor NG9-1-1 environment.
The areas of focus for Intrado's i3 interoperability testing included
the following functional elements as part of its i3 solution:
-
Emergency Call Routing Function
-
Location Validation Function
-
PSAP Call Processing Equipment (Positron VIPER®)
"Intrado continues to embrace its responsibility to collaborate with
NENA and the public safety industry to help solve i3 interoperability
issues in a multi-vendor next-generation 9-1-1 environment," said
Stephen Meer, Chief Technology Officer for Intrado. "NENA ICE events
play an important role in enabling and accelerating the transition from
today's legacy 9-1-1 systems to Internet Protocol (IP)-based
next-generation 9-1-1 networks."
With hundreds of NG9-1-1 installations already completed or in progress,
Intrado has established itself as the industry leader in the deployment
of advanced technology that improves public safety. To learn more about
