Burglar Puts Up Christmas Decorations
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Cops in Vandalia, north of Dayton, say Terry Trent, 44, was high on the designer drug (bath salts') when he broke into a family's home, put up some Christmas decorations and then plopped down on a couch to watch television, local station WHIO reported.
An 11-year-old boy who lives in the house found the strung-out stranger and called his mother, Tamara Henderson, who was at a neighbor's house." NY Daily
Henderson called the cops and Trent was arrested without incident.
Many burglars not only take valuables, but they also vandalize the houses they break into. At least this dude made himself useful by putting up the Christmas decorations.
I hate trimming the Christmas tree and putting up decorations, maybe doing bath salts will put me in the Christmas spirit. But there's a chance that if I get high on bath salts, I will break into my neighbor's house and put up his Christmas decorations.
Trent didn't actually steal anything, he can't be charged with burglary, but he can be charged with "breaking and entering" or perhaps "breaking and decorating."
Trent was a very polite, he apologized to the child for scaring him. I'd rather have an intruder like Trent crash in my house, than my freeloader friends and relatives who watch TV all day, and don't even put up my Christmas decorations.
I hope Trent will be allowed to put a few Christmas decorations in his jail cell.
