WASHINGTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Cygnus Business Media's Digital Group continues its accelerated pace of creating iPad Apps that engage and intensify the content experience for B2B customers. The latest is the launch of an iPad App for the company's Firehouse franchise. It can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store with featured updates for registered users and new content presented each edition, each month, and on demand.

Sponsored by Rosenbauer and Firehouse Software, this fire industry App organizes fire, EMS and public safety content, social media tabs, short films, video, images and product information. For viewing, it includes dual axis and natural gesture navigation, and pop up captioning creating a very visual experience that is easy to navigate and read.

"The Firehouse iPad App is the perfect platform to extend and tailor the Firehouse brand for a new audience of iPad readers," says Patty Maroder, Publisher of Firehouse. "In the coming months, we will be adding more content, including training videos, well as other important content pieces that you have come to expect from Firehouse."

In the premiere edition available now, users will gain insight into:

• University of Extrication including a ResponderSafety.com video

• Apparatus Showcase featuring the latest new deliveries

• Apparatus Architect - Cab Design and Seating Arrangement: Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going

• Tom Shand and Michael Wilbur's monthly Apparatus Architects podcast series

• Rapid Intervention Reality

• Detroit's Angel's Night slideshow by Scott LaPrade - exclusive to the iPad edition

In January, Adobe published results of a University of Connecticut study, Digital Ad Engagement: Perceived Interactivity as a Driver of Advertising Effectiveness that measured five categories of engagement including perceived interactivity, perceived engagement, message involvement, attitude towards the ads, and finally, purchase intent. Dr. Alex Wang, lead researcher notes, "Readers are more likely to engage with interactive than static ads, as well as have a more favorable attitude to the ad and greater purchase intent."

Firehouse is published by Cygnus Business Media. As one of America's top business-to-business media companies, Cygnus reaches millions of professionals annually and is leading the way in providing targeted content to top decision-makers and organizations. The company's corporate initiatives and organizational architecture are built with one goal: fully engaging audiences in Building & Construction, Public Safety & Security, and diversified industries such as agriculture, aviation, transportation, printing, accounting and vending.
