Janus Selects Fidelity as Its Retirement Benefits Provider
BOSTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Fidelity
Investments, the leader in helping America's
workforce save for retirement1,
today announced it was chosen by Janus Capital Group, Inc. (NYSE: JNS)
to provide the company with a defined contribution plan (DC), a
non-qualified retirement savings plan and stock plan services. Fidelity
began delivering certain Janus participants with 401(k) and
non-qualified retirement savings plans on July 1, and began providing
eligible participants with stock plan services on October 17. Upon final
implementation of all three savings programs, Fidelity will service
approximately 1,100 Janus participants with an estimated $250 million in
assets under administration.
"Fidelity's ability to meet our needs as a broker-dealer and its
experience working with more complex implementations reinforced our
decision to choose the company as our retirement benefits provider,"
said Sue Armstrong, manager, Equity Retirement, Janus. "Our participants
are already taking advantage of Fidelity's investment guidance,
including online tools and the popular on-demand workshops, helping them
build more secure futures."
Fidelity Expertise Ensured a Smooth Transition
Due to the complexities involved in converting assets within multiple
retirement plans from one provider to another, Janus chose Fidelity for
its proven track record in handling such integrations, resulting in a
seamless and efficient transition for both Janus administrators and
participants.
"We are thrilled to be chosen by Janus as its retirement provider," said
Jeffrey Lagarce, executive vice president, Sales and Relationship
Management, Fidelity Investments. "We look forward to providing a rich
participant experience complete with the broad range of investment
options available through Fidelity's open architecture plan design,
educational guidance, and ease of use to meet the needs of its
sophisticated employee base."
Daily Reporting Functionality Helps Ensure Compliance
As a financial services firm, Janus must meet certain regulatory
requirements under FINRA2 Rule 350 and the recently
established Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act,
including the monitoring of securities trading activities by employees.
Fidelity's Employee Compliance Reporting platform delivers Janus a daily
electronic snapshot of participant trading accounts and positions so
that the company may ensure it is in compliance both with industry
regulations and its own corporate code of ethics.
Comprehensive Guidance Immediately Available to Janus Participants
Janus participants now have access to the full range of Fidelity
investment guidance including on-site and on-demand workshops, through
the company's innovative online tools,
and over the phone. Participants may also meet one-on-one with Fidelity
investment representatives at more than 160 investor centers nationwide
including three in metropolitan Denver, Colorado, the headquarters of
Janus. In addition, Janus 401(k) participants each received a welcome
call from Fidelity to assist them with enrollment, asset allocation,
setting their deferral rate and other retirement savings questions.
