The Verge Has Launched
WASHINGTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Verge went live earlier today. Editor In Chief Joshua Topolsky and a
roster of the industry's leading writers and editors have officially
embarked on a new mission to create an authoritative and comprehensive
source of news, reviews, journalistic features, and product information
covering the world of consumer technology. The Verge is a publication of Vox
Media, Inc, the newly
named media company headed by Chairman and CEO Jim Bankoff, which
publishes SB Nation and its more than 300 sports blogs.
The
Verge (www.theverge.com)
was developed by an experienced team that has been designing and
creating its new site while publishing a temporary site, thisismynext.com.
Even in its unfinished form, thisismynext.com amassed an audience
of three million monthly unique visitors, while being cited by Time
Magazine as one of The
Best Blogs of 2011.
The Verge is published by Vox, the media company headed by Jim Bankoff
and formerly known as SB Nation. Vox will publish SB Nation (and its
more than 300 sports blogs), as well as The Verge, as separate
verticals. Each month, the SB Nation network of sites has more than 25
million unique visitors. The Verge Co-Founder Marty Moe will be the
site's Publisher, as well as Chief Content Officer of Vox.
The Verge launch is powered by BMW of North America. Additionally, Vox
announced today that consumer electronics company Samsung and
electronics and entertainment company Sony will be launch sponsors of
The Verge.
The roster

Since The Verge was announced in mid-July, Joshua Topolsky was named by
the Washington Post to write a weekly technology column, called "The
Verge." Additional partnerships are expected to be announced the in the
coming weeks.
