One-Half of 'All My Children' Supercouple Angie & Jesse Remains in Pine Valley

Joining Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) and Lindsay Hartley (Dr. Cara Castillo) for the online version of All My Children (AMC) is Darnell Williams -- making him the third actor to sign on for the online version of the now-defunct ABC soap, which ended its 41-year network run September 23.

Since 1981, he has been playing Jesse Hubbard, the streetwise bad boy turned chief of police. The role earned Williams two Daytime Emmy Awards in 1983 and 1985, and a recent NAACP Image Award this year. He and onscreen love interest Debbi Morgan broke ground when Angie and Jesse became the first African-American supercouple in soap opera history. Williams remained on AMC until 1988 when Jesse was "killed" off, but reprised the role as an "angel" in 2001. However, Jesse was completely resurrected in 2008 and was finally reunited with Angie.

Speaking of Angie, though, Morgan will not be returning to AMC due to her role as Harmony on CBS' The Young & the Restless (Y&R).

Along with One Life to Live (OLTL), AMC will return with new episodes on The Online Network (TOLN) in January 2012.
