Comic Book Stories Magically Burst to Life on The Big Screen

Comic book adaption is the trend nowadays because it seems comic book fans will crowd the cinemas to watch the next comic they just read which magically burst to life on the big screen. With any sort of adaption, the process is often a difficult one. However, it is a highly rewarding one when one can relate to what they are shown on the screen. The secret is equilibrium between originality of your input voiding cliché and respecting the originality of the comic book stories.

Marvel studios has the spot with each comic book incarnation that has taken on a new life on the silver screen. Maybe not The Hulk but Edward Norton did well in comparison to Eric Bana. Iron Man was a breath of fresh air, with Robert Downey Jr. making us believe he was actually Tony Stark. The sequel made sure not to disappoint or drop the standards. Thor hit the nail on the head (with his hammer no doubt) with Christopher Hemsworth proving to be an excellent selection as the Norse God of Thunder.

Captain America was my favourite of the aforementioned. Chriss Evans portrayal of the humble super solider is really magnificent. I'll avoid spoilers for those of you who haven't seen it but the flag scene, the grenade scene and the last line of the film sold it for me.

Marvel Studios has been very careful to get their characters right but the big test comes May 2012 when The Avengers will be shown. This is not a comic book adaption where a single super hero is featured as a protagonist but several featuring as a super team proposing to "fight the foes no single superhero can withstand."

Let's hope that mantra holds true when April 2012 comes. Comic lovers, film buffs and critics alike will go to see it for sure.
