Recall Enhances Industry-Leading RFID Technology
WASHINGTON & ATLANTA - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Recall,
a global leader in document
storage, secure
document destruction, digital
document management and data
protection, today announced that its industry-leading radio
frequency identification (RFID) program is now available for individual
files and media tapes. No other document
management company can offer this meticulous level of client care.
Recall's secure facilities were the first in North America to use RFID
technology for the rapid and accurate inventorying of cartons. Since
2007, when Recall first introduced RFID to the document management
industry, tens of millions of Recall cartons now utilize the technology
globally. Now, Recall extends its leadership and innovation as the only
company to provide this capability across cartons, files and media
tapes. With its RFID capabilities, Recall can scan and audit more than
300 cartons in less than 30 seconds, while competitors without RFID,
using error-prone, manual techniques, take well over 30 minutes to scan
the same number of cartons. That is a 60-fold difference in time and
cost.
Corporations and institutions around the world look to Recall to store,
protect, manage and retrieve, on-demand, their most valuable
information. With RFID tracking technology, customers receive an added
layer of document management efficiency and accuracy. This reduces the
cost of critical inventorying procedures while providing the highest
level of accuracy. Improving upon legacy barcode technology, Recall is
the first in the industry to utilize RFID for archiving records,
enabling comprehensive audits to be performed at a fraction of the time
with better than 99.9 percent accuracy. Additionally, RFID helps Recall
support compliance regulations, including regional Privacy Acts and
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), by providing customers with audit reports that
confirm and validate the location of every RFID carton stored.
"Having RFID tags on our cartons is very important to us at Perry Ellis,
and it's one of the reasons we chose Recall over their competitors,"
said Craig Johnson, C.P.M., A.P.P., director of procurement, Perry
Ellis. "This added layer of security and accuracy allows for seamless
and timely inventory tracking when we need it."
"After being the first in the industry to offer RFID technology at the
carton level, Recall further extends its leadership position as the
first to provide RFID at the tape and file levels, as well," said Elton
Potts, group president and chief operating officer, Recall. "By
providing rapid and accurate inventorying of cartons and individual
documents, companies can obtain a regular audit of their holdings on a
consistent basis in a cost-effective manner. We believe this
leading-edge innovation within the document management space will
further assist our customers, and we are proud to be extending this
technology further within Recall's business."
At ARMA International Conference & Expo, Recall will be demonstrating
the expanded RFID technology at booth #701. Awards will be given for
participation in the demo. To watch a video of RFID being used at the
