Chicago Lady Finishes Marathon And Then Gives Birth
By Robert Paul Reyes
"A suburban Chicago woman said she gave birth to a baby girl shortly after finishing the Chicago Marathon, which she half ran, half walked.
Amber Miller of Westchester said her doctor gave her clearance to participate in the Sunday event even though she was 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant. She said she felt the baby coming shortly after crossing the finish line with a time of 6 hours and 25 minutes." UPI
I can't imagine completing a marathon -- the only exercise I get is reaching for the remote. Amber is an inspiration; I might start to mow my own grass.
I wouldn't recommend that every woman who is nine months pregnant run a marathon, but pregnant ladies shouldn't vegetate on the sofa, getting up only to use the restroom or to fix themselves a peanut butter and cucumber sandwich.
It should be noted that Amber had clearance from her physician to participate in the marathon, and her husband was running with her.
Congratulations to Amber on finishing the marathon, and on the birth of her beautiful baby girl.
