Montreal, Canada, October 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- FieldTurf, the inventor of new generation artificial grass and the world leader in synthetic turf innovation, has joined the "FIFA Preferred Producer" program. FieldTurf is the world leader in FIFA Recommended installations, with over 160 FIFA Recommended fields worldwide, and was the very first artificial surface to attain FIFA Recommended status due to its superior grass like performance, which football players prefer.

"We are pleased to be joining the FIFA Preferred Producer initiative," said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “Delivering the highest quality, superior performing and safest artificial turf systems has been our mission at FieldTurf from the very beginning.”

The FIFA quality concept for synthetic football turf was developed to raise the quality of football pitches and guarantee the safety of football players at all levels. This will be accomplished by setting firm obligations and requirements which must be adhered to at each stage of the turf lifecycle – manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.

“We look forward to working with FIFA to help them realize their vision for the Quality Concept,” added Daliere. “It goes beyond just joining the program. It's about a time-proven commitment and desire to raise the bar in the industry.”

The announcement of FieldTurf joining the FIFA Preferred Producer Program comes on the verge of the 2011 FSB international trade fair where FieldTurf will be introducing many of its new innovations geared towards soccer-specific applications, amongst others.

FieldTurf pitches have proven themselves time and time again as the very best in artificial turf technology, having hosted a wide variety of important international matches and sporting events for all sports and at all levels. Some of the noteworthy matches to have taken place on FieldTurf include a Champions League match (2006), a Euro Cup Qualifier (2008), the MLS Cup Final (2009), the 2008 MLS All-Star Game, a USL Championship Game (2007), the Men's FIFA U20 World Cup Final (2007), the Women's FIFA U20 World Cup Final (2008), the CONCACAF Gold Cup (2009), a UEFA Cup Qualifier (2003), World Cup Qualifiers (2005, 2009) and NCAA League Finals.
