NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Univision announced today the upcoming U.S. premiere of "Infiltrados"
(Infiltrated), a documentary produced by Documentales Univision,
Univision News' new documentary unit. "Infiltrados" takes an in-depth
look at the FARC - one of the world's deadliest terrorist organizations,
which is accountable for 60 percent of the cocaine that comes into the
United States. The documentary debuting on the Univision Network on

"The launch of our new unit, Documentales Univision, reaffirms our
commitment to the world-class offerings we have in store for our
dedicated and growing community,'" said Isaac Lee, president of News,
Univision Communications. "The riveting story presented in 'Infiltrados'
is a testament to how deep we dig and far we go to tell critical, and
sometimes dangerous, stories."
"It is an honor to be part of an award-winning news team as it expands
its coverage to include long-form documentaries," said Juan Rendon,
director of Documentales Univision, Univision News." "'Infiltrados'
tells an important story about what it takes to successfully penetrate a
terrorist organization and eliminate its leaders. As the world struggles
to battle both drugs and terrorism, the documentary showcases the
successes of Colombia's police and the brave men and women who went
undercover, joined the ranks of the FARC, and put their lives on the
line for the sake of their nation."
Written and directed by Rendon, "Infiltrados" examines the Colombian
national police and the involvement of its intelligence division DIPOL
(Dirección de Inteligencia de la PolicÃa Nacional) in the recent lethal
strikes against the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia).
With first-time accounts from the spies who joined the ranks of the
FARC, "Infiltrados" is an exhilarating account of how Colombia has
headed off the violence and terrorism that has plagued the nation for
over 45 years. The film is narrated by award-winning Univision News
co-anchors Maria Elena Salinas (in English) and Jorge Ramos (in
Spanish), with contributions from Univision's award-winning foreign
correspondent Karl Penhaul.
